York Regional Police Association (YRPA) members will join their law enforcement colleagues in the Law Enforcement Torch Run through York Region.
Prior to the start of the Torch Run, YRPA President John Miskiw presented a cheque to Alex Keating, Ontario Special Olympics athlete, representing the police association's fundraising contribution to this important activity. The ceremony took place at the YRPA sports facilities in Newmarket.
The Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is organized by local law enforcement personnel on behalf of Ontario's 11,000 Special Olympics athletes. Runners carried the Flame of Hope along a 23-kilometre route through Newmarket, Aurora, Oak Ridges, Richmond Hill and Stouffville.Last Updated: 2007-02-16
